The customer needed to add refrigerated delivery capacity without purchasing a finished refrigerated vehicle from inventory. The van would be used for recurring local food-distribution routes with frequent stops and repeated door openings.
The project required a practical balance between refrigeration capacity, usable cargo space, durability, and vehicle payload.
Thermobile developed a refrigerated Ford Transit conversion around the customer’s delivery requirements and intended chilled operating range.
The build combined commercial insulation, a washable interior package, and a refrigeration system selected for the vehicle configuration and expected route conditions. The layout was planned to preserve useful cargo capacity while creating a durable temperature-controlled delivery environment.
The project began with a review of the vehicle, products being transported, desired temperature range, route conditions, and anticipated delivery schedule.
Thermobile then defined the insulation and interior package, refrigeration-system requirements, and custom options.
After installation, the completed cargo area was reviewed for fit, finish, system operation, and accessibility before delivery to the customer.
